"Ilalang di Tanah Gersang is a film with a family drama genre, this film is based on the phenomenon of violence against children. Violence in cases of violence against children that occur in Indonesia, one of which is violence against children in the family. The fictional film Ilalang di Tanah Gersang tells the story of the lives of two brothers who received harsh treatment from their stepfather so that their stepfather wants to return one of them to Uncle Adam and Bayu, inevitably they both have to accept that which must be separated. This fictional film Ilalang di Tanah Gersang uses the concept of emotional rhythm to build character emotions in several scenes. Emotional rhythm is the tension and release of emotions shaped by the timing, pacing, and phrasing of emotional energy. The purpose of creating this work is to build emotions through cutting the formed image and through the duration of the shot which forms a pattern composed of several shots whose duration has been compiled, to produce a slow and fast cutting tempo, so that the emotions in each character are conveyed information to the audience.
